About Our Council

The Knights of Columbus Father Bob Vidal Council #9594, based at Saint Anne Catholic Church in Seal Beach, is part of the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization. Since our founding in 1987, we have actively contributed to the Parish and Seal Beach/Orange County community. Our council provides men with a unique opportunity to grow in faith, offer charitable service and foster fellowship with other men of the Church.

Our Activities

The Knights of Columbus Father Bob Vidal Council #9594 is involved in a wide range of activities designed to build fraternity, faith, and service. Here are some key activities that we organize for our members and parish:

Spiritual Enrichment Events

Our Council conducts a spiritual commentary at every meeting as well as conducting an annual retreat. Our prayers before and at the end of each meeting remind us of our commitment to the Catholic faith and service to others. Our members also support the Parish in the Liturgy as sacristan, altar servers, lectures and ushers.

Socials

Our Council feels that building community and hospitality are an essential part of our mission. We host after Mass Fellowship throughout the year, Pancake Breakfasts and also annual St Patrick’s/St Joseph’s Day Pot Luck and Alaskan Fish dinner. All our events strive to bring the parish together and to raise funds in support of Knight’s charities, especially Seminarian support and Right to Life.

Fundraising Events

Our fundraising is focused to support two main objectives, Seminarian support and Orange County Right to Life initiatives. Our Pancake Breakfasts, Alaskan Fish Dinner proceeds benefit these causes. We also conduct a Christmas Food Drive and “Walking with Mom’s” Right to Life fundraisers to benefit our local community.

Blood Drives

The Council organizes blood drives several times per year all conducted at St Anne’s Church Hall. This Blood Drive is open to the Parish and the Seal Beach Community and is regularly promoted in the local Seal Beach Sun Newspaper. We are proud to have been recognized by the Orange County Red Cross as one of the largest ongoing donors in the County, positively impacting 1000’s of lives in the past 5 years!

Christmas Parade

We are proud participants in the City of Seal Beach Christmas Parade, where we help the Parish and Community together to spread the message of Christmas. Our members help organize the Parish effort and walk in the Parade, hand out candy and share in the joy of the Christmas Season.

Youth Activities

Throughout the year we sponsor youth oriented activities for both our St Anne Parish as well as our sister Catholic School, St Anne’s in Santa Ana, CA. These include sports, fishing and essay contests that nurture the sense of community and faith in our young people.
